Kando DSC03940

Building from the field

Kando was born from a simple observation, made from the inside: too much time lost documenting, handing over or searching for information. And too little time spent with people.
This is not an unchangeable constraint. It's a tooling problem and we decided to solve it!

Our name, our promise

Kando is not an acronym.

It's a word chosen for what it carries.

In Japanese, it describes the deep emotion you feel when something truly touches you. In Swahili, it means “beside”, like a discreet partner, always present. And in its English sound, it evokes can do: the conviction that solutions exist, that things can be done differently.

Three meanings, one idea: being there, without imposing.

What we believe in

  • Technology should fade into the background.

A successful care tool is one you no longer notice. Not because it's absent, but because it's perfectly integrated. Kando works in the background so that the people providing care can stay in the foreground.

  • A touch, a look, a smile cannot be automated.

We deeply believe in what technology cannot replace. That's precisely why we exist: to give caregivers the time to cultivate those moments.

  • The caregiver keeps the decision.

Kando suggests, alerts, documents, it imposes nothing. No act of care is performed by an artificial intelligence. Final validation always belongs to the person at the bedside.

  • Data stays where it belongs.

Infrastructure, AI models: everything stays in Europe. Your data depends on no foreign jurisdiction. This is not an option, it's an architectural choice made from day one.

Our values

  • Integrity

We're building Kando because we saw what could change, and we sincerely believe we can do it the right way. Every professional assistant we develop starts from there: an honest desire to change something concrete.

  • Optimism

We believe complex problems have honest solutions that keep improving. Kando is designed to evolve with you: with your teams' needs, your organisation's constraints and the sector's changes.

  • Accessibility

Technology caregivers don't want to use is useless. Kando must be self-evident, not learned. Every interface, every interaction is designed to be simple, fluid and pleasant to use. Because ergonomics and aesthetics aren't details, they're a condition.

  • Commitment

We build to last. Kando anticipates needs before they become problems, and is part of a participatory dynamic: caregivers shape the tool, not the other way around.

As close to the field as possible

Caregivers are not our users — they are our co-designers. Every feature is tested, questioned and refined with them, in the places where Kando will be used, at the pace of what they actually experience.

Around them, a team that brings two worlds together: engineers who build the technology, and people from the elderly-care sector — technicians, a communications officer, care professionals who know what the words “daily routine” and “constraint” really mean.

That combination is what makes the difference.

A company built to last.

We started with what weighs the most: care and its administrative burden. Step by step, we're expanding to other places where older people are cared for in hospital and at home and to everything that keeps a care organisation running. Our ambition: to finally make your tools talk to each other. To get there, we've chosen our partners with care.
